Customize Theme Settings
Theme settings allow you to control the overall look and feel of your Shopify store.
Unlike page sections, theme settings usually apply across your entire storefront.
Open Theme Settings
In your Shopify admin, go to:
Online Store → Themes → Customize
Inside the Theme Editor, click:
Theme settings (gear icon)
What can you customize?
Depending on your theme, you may be able to customize:
- Colors
- Typography
- Logo
- Buttons
- Product cards
- Layout spacing
- Social media links
Some themes may include additional options.
Customize colors
You can update colors to match your brand, including:
- Background colors
- Text colors
- Button colors
- Accent colors
Changes are usually applied throughout the store.
Customize typography
Typography settings allow you to control your store fonts.
Common options include:
- Heading fonts
- Body fonts
- Font sizes
Choose fonts that are easy to read on both desktop and mobile devices.
Upload your logo
Most Shopify themes allow you to upload your logo directly in the Theme Settings area.
You can usually adjust:
- Logo size
- Logo width
- Mobile logo settings
For best results, use a high-quality image with a transparent background.
Theme settings vs sections
Theme settings control the overall design of your store.
Examples:
- Colors
- Fonts
- Buttons
Sections control the content and layout of individual pages.
Examples:
- Slideshows
- Featured products
- Image banners
Save your changes
After editing your settings, click:
Save
Your changes will then appear on your storefront.
